Question: What is a software update? |

Answer: When a new version of a product is released for sale, inherently there are "bugs" (problems) in the software that the vendor was unable to detect prior to release. When end-users or consultants report these problems to the vendor, eventually a "release" (a file that corrects the problems) is issued and made available to their customers. Assuming you have access to the Internet, you can download these releases at no charge. Releases sometimes also contain enhancements and improvements to the original release of the program. |

Question: How do I check which version and release of QuickBooks I have? |

Answer: Open QuickBooks, hold down the CTRL button on your keyboard, and press the number 1 (above the Q - don't use the number pad). |

Question: How do I check which version and release of Peachtree I have? |

Answer: Open Peachtree, click on Help from the drop down menu at the top of the screen, then click on About Peachtree. |

Question: How do I check which version and release of ACT! I have? |
|
Answer: Open ACT!, click on Help from the drop down menu at the top of the screen, then click on About ACT!. The build number will be displayed. |
